A 21-year-old North Philadelphia man was charged Friday with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related offenses in last week's shooting of a man in Center City, according to police.

Tyrone Wilson, of the 1400 block of North 15th Street, is accused of firing at a 38-year-old man about 1 a.m. Feb. 16 near 15th and Locust Streets. The victim ran to Broad and Spruce Streets, where he collapsed in front of the Kimmel Center with a gunshot wound to his right arm, police said.

Capt. Frank Banford of Central Detectives said Friday that investigators were not certain of a motive for the shooting, but that they believe Wilson knew the victim.

Wilson was jailed Monday on a separate weapons charge, Banford said, and Detectives Mike Rocks, Mike Repici, and Lenny Williams were able to connect him to the earlier shooting after a witness picked out his mug shot from a photo array. Wilson remained in custody Friday after failing to post 10 percent of $400,000 bail, court records said. - Chris Palmer
