A body found Tuesday morning on the side of a road in Bucks County was identified as a 25-year-old woman who was dumped there after a possible drug overdose, a law enforcement official said.

The body of Stephanie Machen, of Norristown, was found on the grass along Mill Road near State Road and Interstate 95 around 10 a.m., said Frederick Harran, director of public safety for Bensalem Township.

Harran said it appeared that Machen died of a drug overdose and that her body was dumped from a vehicle overnight or early Tuesday morning.

An official cause of death was pending and police were continuing to investigate the circumstances of her death and how she ended up on the road, Harran said.
