A former Chester County pastor accused of raping and impregnating a teenager who lived with his family was formally arraigned Thursday on 11 charges, including sexual assault.

Jacob Malone, 33, of Exton, appeared via video feed from Chester County Prison for his arraignment at the Chester County Justice Center in West Chester.

Malone, dressed in a plain white t-shirt and jeans, followed along as a court administrator read the packet of charges against him. He did not address the charges.

Malone was a pastor at Calvary Fellowship, a nondenominational church in Downingtown, for about 18 months until he resigned in November, after church leaders confronted him about the teen's pregnancy. Malone admitted he had impregnated the teenager, whom Malone and his wife had treated like a daughter, said a fellow pastor.

Malone met the teen when she was about 12 and he was a pastor at a church in Arizona, police said. He invited the girl to stay with him and his family in Minnesota when she was 17. In July 2014, they all moved to Chester County.

She told police Malone began to sexually assault her in the fall of 2014.
