Man fatally hit by van in Bustleton

A male pedestrian died after he was struck by a minivan in Philadelphia's Bustleton section.

Philadelphia police said the man was walking in the road on Bustleton Avenue near Verree Road when he was hit at about 9 p.m. Sunday.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The male driver of the Toyota Sienna stopped and remained at the scene.

Police said the crash remains under investigation but charges were unlikely to be filed.

No other vehicles were involved.
