A round of snow and wintry mix is making its way through the Philadelphia area Friday morning. Here's the latest information.

Forecast

Overnight rain has shifted to wet snow and sleet, which are expected to continue through the morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, which is in place until 10 a.m. in Philadelphia and the immediate surrounding area and until noon in parts of New Jersey and Delaware closer to the coast.

Most of the region is expected to see about an inch or two of snow, with the potential for up to 4 inches in some areas. Some periods of heavy snowfall are possible.

The snow should be leaving the region by mid-morning.

Roads

Thanks to the recent warm weather, the snow is not sticking to road surfaces on major thoroughfares. Conditions range from wet to slushy, depending on the amount of traffic. The snow may also reduce visibility. Motorists should use caution.

There are speed restrictions on some highways and the Delaware River bridges.

Sidewalks are might be slick.

Mass Transit

No major disruptions reported.

Schools

Some districts have delayed openings. Philadelphia public schools are opening on time.
