The former Chester County pastor wanted for raping and impregnating a teen was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday when he arrived back in the country from Ecuador, police said Tuesday.

Jacob Malone, 33, of Exton, was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and is being held in Essex County, N.J., awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, police said.

Malone faces charges of rape, institutional sexual assault and related charges. He is accused of giving an 18-year-old woman alcohol and sexually assaulting her while she was highly intoxicated.

Malone was a pastor at Calvary Fellowship, a nondenominational church in Downingtown, for about 18 months. He resigned in November after church leaders confronted him about the teen's pregnancy. He admitted he impregnated her, church leaders said.

The teenager, who met Malone when she was 12, lived with the pastor and his family at the time. A church leader at Calvary Fellowship said Malone treated her like a daughter.

The teen told police Malone began to sexually assault her in the fall of 2014.
