Big lotto wins in Philly, Delco

Lottery players in Philadelphia and Delaware County racked up big wins over the weekend. A ticket sold in Broomall split a $225,000 Cash 5 jackpot, while a Powerball ticket bought in Center City won $100,000.

Lottery players in Philadelphia and Delaware County racked up big wins over the weekend.

A ticket sold in Broomall split a $225,000 Cash 5 jackpot, while a Powerball ticket bought in Center City won $100,000.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials said the Cash 5 ticket, along with another sold in Washington County, matched all five numbers drawn Friday: 6, 18, 36, 39 and 42.

The Delaware County ticket was sold at the BP located at 2590 West Chester Pike, while the other winner was purchased at a grocery store in McDonald, Pa.

Each ticketholder gets $112,500 and the retailers will each receive a $500 bonus.

Philadelphia's lucky Powerball ticket matched four of the five white balls (28, 30, 41, 59 and 68) in Saturday's game and missed the Powerball of 10. Because the ticket was purchased with the Power Play option, it's worth $100,000 instead of $50,000, lottery officials said.

That ticket was sold at Jimmi's News, located at 13th and Market streets. The news stand gets a $500 bonus.

No one won the Powerball jackpot Saturday, so the top prize for Wednesday's game rises to $227 million for the annuity, or $141 million for the cash option.

The Mega Millions jackpot is also on the rise. The prize for Tuesday's drawing now stands at $94 million, or $58 million cash.
