Teen slain in Mill Creek triple shooting

A 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Philadelphia's Mill Creek section that also left another teenager and a 37-year-old woman wounded.

A 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Philadelphia's Mill Creek section that also left another teenager and a 37-year-old woman wounded.

Officers were called to a report of a person with a gun near Creighton Street and Wyalusing Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Philadelphia police said.

There, they found the 17-year-old in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.

The teenager, whose name has not been released, was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:38 p.m., police said.

Another 17-year-old boy, who was shot in his left thigh, was hospitalized in critical condition.

The third victim, a 37-year-old woman, suffered a graze wound to her right hip, police said. Medics treated her at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remained unknown Monday morning.

Police were looking for two suspects. One was described only as a black man in his mid 20s. The other was described as a black woman who was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black leather coat and blue and white leggings, and carrying a yellow and black bookbag.
