A 19-year-old man wanted for questioning in the shooting of a state trooper this week on the Vine Street Expressway was taken into custody Thursday, State Police said.

Kaymer Lewis, who allegedly was a passenger in the car involved in the shooting, was picked up at a store on a probation warrant by Philadelphia police in the 25th Police District. State Police said Lewis was cooperative and was not facing new charges. He was scheduled to be transferred to probation officers on Friday.

Trooper Patrick Casey, 31, was shot in the shoulder Tuesday morning, allegedly by Giovanni Cotto, 17, who was driving a car being pursued by State Police. The car crashed into a school bus and a large fire consumed both vehicles. Cotto was captured after a brief foot chase, police said. Casey was released from the hospital on Wednesday. - Robert Moran
