MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Program joins young workers

with holiday jobs

NORRISTOWN Montgomery County has a program to link youths with businesses looking for holiday workers.

The Youth Employment Program serves students 14 to 24.

Participants are required to attend at least one of the "work readiness workshops" that may cover resumé writing, interview skills, or other topics. Sessions are scheduled for two Mondays, Nov. 2 and 9, at 4:30 p.m. at the office of the county's Workforce Investment Board, 1430 DeKalb St., Suite 1142.

It's one of several youth programs run by the workforce board. Others include college tours, GED coaching, summer internships, and programs geared toward specific industries, such as manufacturing or technology.
