Record may be cleared in Yeadon

YEADON Residents who have been arrested but never convicted of a crime, or who were convicted of only a summary offense, may be eligible to have their record cleared this month in Yeadon Borough.

YEADON Residents who have been arrested but never convicted of a crime, or who were convicted of only a summary offense, may be eligible to have their record cleared this month in Yeadon Borough.

Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, in partnership with state legislators and Widener University's School of Law, is to hold an expungement clinic on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Only people who have been arrested in Delaware County and who do not currently have criminal charges are eligible. In addition, only residents who faced non-conviction charges or summary convictions with no arrests in the last five years will be considered.

Residents serving probation time are barred from participating.

"A criminal record can make finding employment, obtaining housing, and securing other opportunities difficult," according to a release issued by the legal service.

The event is to be held in Yeadon Borough Hall at Church Lane and Baily Road. Residents must RSVP to attend by calling State Rep. Joanna McClinton's office at 215-748-6712 or e-mailing EAli@pahouse.net. - Caitlin McCabe
