Philly's annual Hero Thrill Show set for this Saturday at Sports Complex

The 61st Annual Hero Thrill Show, which benefits survivors of police and fire personnel killed in the line of duty, is set for Saturday outside the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia.

From 11:45 a.m. till 4:45 p.m., there will be performances by police officers and firefighters and displays of crime- and firefighting equipment and safety demonstrations.

The grand marshal is Cathy Burke, owner of the Irish Pub. There will carnival games, face-painting, sports mascots, and cheerleaders. Tickets are $10 for individuals and $25 for families. They are available at local police or fire stations, or online at www.herothrillshow.org. - Robert Moran
