Police ID 7 slain in Philly violence

Philadelphia police on Monday identified the seven people, who ranged in age from 17 to 52, killed in slayings that included shootings, a stabbing and a beating.

Arrests were made in two of the killings, both cases of domestic violence, police said. The other homicides remain under investigation.

The weekend slayings brought to 202 the number of homicides so far this year, 10 more than the same period last year.

The homicide victims identified Monday were:

Dakwuan Anderson, 20, who was shot multiple times on the 2600 block of York Street in North Philadelphia at about 11:30 a.m. Friday. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:02 p.m. No motive for the killing was known.

Manuel Andrade, 36, who was found inside the doorway of a home on the 2100 block of West Master Street in North Philadelphia just before 7:15 p.m. Friday, suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:47 p.m. Andrade had been shot during an attempted robbery, police said.

Kimberly Foster, 52, who died after she was allegedly kicked and punched by her live-in boyfriend at her home on the 3700 block of North 18th Street in Tioga. Officers were called to the home Saturday afternoon; Foster was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:58 p.m.

The boyfriend, 54-year-old Joseph House, was arrested and charged with murder and other offenses.

David Wood, 32, who was stabbed to death in his home on the 4900 block of Friendship Street in Tacony Saturday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:03 p.m.

His wife, 49-year-old Deanne Fidyk, was taken into custody and charged with murder and other crimes.

Maurice Irving, 17, who was shot in the chest on the 300 block of East Wister Street in Wister on Saturday. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:58 p.m.

Another man, 29, was also shot and hospitalized in stable condition. That man had been treated and released, police said Monday, and was not being held as a suspect.

Keenam Mills, 23, and Nicholas Jones, 22, died after suffering gunshot wounds in an apparent confrontation early Sunday morning. Mills was found slain in the third-floor hallway of a building the 2400 block of North 29th Street in North Philadelphia at 2:30 a.m. Sunday; Jones was found in front of a building around the corner. He was taken to Temple, where he was pronounced dead at 4:57 a.m.
