JUST CALL HIM the Man of Steal.

The fashion choices of one super-dumb criminal may have been his kryptonite, according to Upper Darby police, who said they captured a burglary suspect this week thanks to the man's penchant for wearing a Superman shirt while committing his crimes.

Kyree Henneghan, 18, of West Philly, was charged with two counts of burglary and related offenses for the break-ins that occurred this week and last, said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

The first burglary took place about 12:30 p.m. Sept. 24 when Henneghan, who was wearing a Superman shirt and red Chuck Taylor sneakers, broke into a house on Powell Lane near Chestnut Street and stole an iPhone, a wallet and a bank card, Chitwood said.

Instead of flying away from the scene, this un-Superman used a BMX bicycle to make his getaway, police said.

Then, about 11 a.m. Tuesday, Henneghan burglarized a house on Glencoe Road near Sansom Street, not far from the first location, Chitwood said.

Henneghan was wearing his signature Superman shirt and red Chuck Taylors when the owner of the house walked in while he was committing the burglary, police said.

"He says to the guy, 'Your wife let me in!' " Chitwood said.

Henneghan was able to flee the house with a laptop computer on his slower-than-a-speeding bullet BMX bike, police said, but he'd soon learn he was not dealing with some Smallville police department.

Upper Darby cops who received the call determined Henneghan was heading into Philadelphia, and officers located him - thanks to his Superman shirt and sneakers - while he was attempting to sell the stolen laptop from his bicycle to some men in a car at 62nd and Walnut streets in West Philadelphia, Chitwood said.

When taken in for questioning, Henneghan was far from steely with investigators and admitted to committing the burglaries, according to police.

"The moral of the story is don't steal and don't ride your BMX bike with your red Chuck sneakers and blue Superman shirt," Chitwood said.
