South Philly woman stabbed, husband arrested

A 61-year-old woman was hospitalized in stable condition after being stabbed, allegedly by her husband, late Wednesday afternoon in South Philadelphia, police said.

A 61-year-old woman was hospitalized in stable condition after being stabbed, allegedly by her husband, late Wednesday afternoon in South Philadelphia, police said.

The attack occurred just before 5:20 p.m. inside a residence in the 2500 block of Webster Street. The woman was stabbed in the cheek, forehead, and chest. She was taken by medics to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

The husband, whose age was not provided, was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, police said.
