Victim ID'd in stabbing near City Hall

Police identified William Vaughn of the city's Kingsessing section as the man found fatally stabbed Thursday morning near City Hall.

Vaughn, 47, who lived in the 1500 block of South 53d Street, was found about 6:40 a.m. in the 100 block of North Broad Street with a stab wound to the left side of his chest, police said.

Medics took him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:10 a.m. No arrests were reported. - Robert Moran
