A woman who is eight months pregnant and a man were wounded in a double shooting Thursday night in the city's Frankford section, police say.

Shortly before 10 p.m. in the 4100 block of Paul Street, the 23-year-old woman was shot in the upper left thigh and the 21-year-old man was shot in the back, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Both were transported by medics to Temple University Hospital. The woman was reported in stable condition. The man was listed in critical condition, but was expected to survive, Small said.

At least 11 shots were fired in the direction of the victims from the intersection of Paul and Womrath Streets, Small said. The gunman and another male then fled the scene in a white Cadillac. - Robert Moran
