Philadelphia property assessment data now available online

Philadelphia has posted assessment data online for the city's more than 579,000 properties.

The data includes property characteristics, ownership and sales information, and assessment histories.

"Property assessment data impacts every homeowner and business in the city. It is vitally important that this information, and the data used to inform it, is made available to the public," said Mayor Michael A. Nutter. "This release joins a growing list of more than 225 open data sets that help inform citizens and strengthen their trust in government."

The data and an accompanying visualization tool can be accessed at www.opendataphilly.org.
