Yangming posts apology

RADNOR Yangming, the elite Chinese restaurant whose closure last week revealed roach infestations, moldy food, and dirty work spaces, posted "a sincere apology" to its patrons late Monday.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant said it was "very very sorry for the problems which caused the Township to temporarily close our restaurant. There are no excuses. We owe you better."

Radnor officials cited the restaurant for code violations in July, and shut it down Aug. 18 after the problems were not corrected. In addition to vermin and other food-safety issues, inspectors found plumbing, electrical and structural problems.

Yangming has been a Main Line favorite for nearly two decades and was named the nation's best Chinese restaurant by one competition in 2011.

In its post, the restaurant said it would fix the problems and "we hope you will give us another chance to gain your trust."

The Facebook message was accompanied by an image of a sad cartoon person with its head down. By Tuesday afternoon, it had been "liked" or shared 100 times, and several comments from customers who said they "can't wait until you open again." - Jessica Parks
