Police are looking for the man behind a series of burglaries, mostly at eateries, in sections of Center City and South Philadelphia.

Philadelphia police on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the suspect, thought to be behind six break-ins that targeted the businesses' cash registers since the middle of May.

The first incident happened on May 12, when the man broke into the Cricket Wireless store at 1422 Snyder Ave. at about 11:45 a.m. through a basement window. He looked for merchandise and cash but left the store without taking anything, police said.

The next day, he stole cash from the register at Flying Fish Seafood, located at 2652 S. 9th St., after climbing in through a second-floor window at 12:50 a.m.

Police said his next heist was June 8, when he broke open the locks at Sakura Mandarin, 1038 Race St., forced the cash register open and made off with money.

Then, on June 15, he broke into the Rita's Water Ice at 1901 Oregon Ave., fleeing with money from the cash register at about 3 a.m.

That was followed by a break-in and theft from the cash registers at the Oriental Chinese restaurant at 1801 S. Broad St. on June 21 at 4:40 a.m., police said.

The most recent incident happened Friday, when he forced open the front door at Paolo Pizzeria, located at 1336 Pine St., and stole a cash register.

The suspect is described as a white man who is 35 to 40 years old and has glasses and dark hair. He has worn similar white clothing in some of the incidents.
