Police: Keep valuables in cars hidden

Delaware County police are warning drivers not to leave valuables in view in their cars.

On Saturday at the St. Albans Swim Club in Newtown Township, Delaware County, a designer purse - left in sight - was stolen from a locked car after a thief smashed out the rear window. A stolen iPhone was recovered in a wooded area off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, but the other contents were not recovered.

Newtown Police said they believe the thief may be part of a transient group that goes from town to town stealing items left in cars.
