Police in the tiny borough will be on the lookout for children practicing pedestrian and roadway safety, and rewarding them with free stuff.

Remember to wear your bike helmet? Here's a cupcake.

Using the crosswalk? Gift certificate for the toy store.

Looking both ways? Come get your portrait taken. OK, that prize may be more exciting to Mom, but it's a prize nonetheless.

Local businesses donated $1,900 worth of cash and prizes for the summer safety effort. It will culminate in November with a raffle for a new bike, donated by the Police Department. - Jessica Parks
