Philadelphia police have arrested a Mantua man for a Memorial Day slaying in Belmont.

Eric McFarland, 24, was arrested Tuesday and charged with the murder of Kenneth Williams, also 24.

Police said that at 1:25 a.m. Monday, a report of a shooting called officers to a playground in the 4000 block of Aspen Street.

They found Williams, who lived on the same block, facedown in the playground. He had been shot in the head and back, police said.

Police rushed him to the hospital, but he died 20 minutes later at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, police said.

The motive in the killing was an argument, police said. They did not specify what the fight had been about.
