HORSHAM The Hatboro-Horsham School District will dedicate a monument to veterans at the front entrance to its high school on Friday.

The school community raised $170,000 to create the monument, made of three granite pillars.

Bill Naydan, Hatboro-Horsham High School director of choral activities, proposed the monument after visiting memorials to American soldiers in Europe.

"We all have a relative, friend, or neighbor who has played a part in keeping America safe and free," Naydan said. "I encourage the community to join us as we pay homage to our local heroes who have answered the call to service."

The dedication is to begin at 6 p.m. Friday with a parade through the high school campus and a concert of patriotic songs performed by students. - Laura McCrystal
