Older students to be honored

WEST CHESTER West Chester University students 60 and older will be honored Friday at the Lifelong Learning Celebration, part of West Chester Borough's work as a World Health Organization Age-Friendly Community.

The university allows retired Pennsylvania residents to attend tuition-free. More than 200 are enrolled and were invited to Friday's event with local and university leaders, said Mike Corcoran, a coordinator for the project at WCU.

Since the borough received the WHO designation in April 2014, the Age-Friendly West Chester Project has sponsored events such as Careers in Aging Day and a senior center spa day. - Justine McDaniel
