Montco to honor State Trooper Kedra

NORRISTOWN Montgomery County law enforcement officers will dedicate a memorial plaque Friday for State Trooper David Kedra, who was killed last fall in a training exercise.

The dedication will be part of the annual Montgomery County police officer memorial ceremony, to be held at noon Friday at the county courthouse in Norristown.

Kedra, 26, was shot and killed during a state police training exercise in September at the Public Safety Training Campus in Plymouth Township.

Cpl. Richard Schroeter has been charged with reckless endangerment in Kedra's death. Prosecutors said he was instructing a firearms class when he pulled the trigger and shot Kedra.

Friday's memorial ceremony is to be held at the law enforcement monument outside the courthouse. - Laura McCrystal
