Toxic products can be disposed of

SHARON HILL Delaware County residents who have toxic products around the house can properly dispose of them Saturday at the county's Household Hazardous Waste event.

Accepted items includes gasoline, lawn chemicals, mercury thermostats, and fluorescent tubes. Electronic waste, such as TVs or computers, will not be accepted due to a change in state law.

Household products containing toxic chemicals can be harmful to people and the environment when improperly disposed of.

The event is to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Emergency Services Training Center, 1600 Calcon Hook Rd., Sharon Hill. Saturday is the first of four hazardous waste events scheduled in the county this year.
