Author and child development expert to speak at Rustin High School

WEST CHESTER Ellen Galinsky, author of "Mind in the Making: The 7 Essential Skills Every Child Needs," will speak about her years of work with the top researchers and child development experts at Rustin High School in West Chester on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Among the topics she is expected to discuss are what makes young children stay motivated and engaged in learning, the essential skills children need to succeed and how babies brains are wired and what parents and educators can do to help children learn.

Galinsky holds a masters of science degree in child development and education and her national campaign, "Mind in the Making: the Science of Early Learning," has helped shape elementary education in the United States.

A popular keynote speaker, she has appeared at national conferences and on TV shows such as CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, World News Tonight and Oprah.
