A Philadelphia man is behind bars after he allegedly tried to impersonate an attorney and swindled a woman out of $1,300, the Delaware County District Attorney's office announced.

Kyle Arnold, 42, of Old York Road, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property. He was remanded to the Delaware County jail after failing to post bail.

According to the district attorney's office, on March 31, 2014, Kyle was at the Delaware County courthouse for a hearing related to a aggravated assault charge in Chester.

He identified himself as an attorney to a woman he had met, and offered to represent her boyfriend. The two traveled to center city where she believed he had an office in the Philadelphia Municipal Services building. She gave him $1,300. Arnold left and said he would return. When he didn't, the woman contacted police. She was later able to identify him from a photo array.
