Reward offered for racist Lincoln vandal

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of whoever spray-painted the N-word at the entrance to Lincoln University on Thursday.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of whoever spray-painted the N-word at the entrance to Lincoln University on Thursday.

The slur was painted on a sign at the Chester County university, where public safety officers found it around 1:50 a.m. Thursday. It was gone by morning, officials said.

The Chester County District Attorney and Chamber of Business and Industry are offering the reward for information about the vandal or vandals. University officials are working with the District Attorney's office, they said.

Lincoln students "deserve much better," said Chamber President Guy Ciarrocchi in a statement Friday.

"Racism and ignorance go hand-in-hand, and neither will be tolerated in Chester County," said District Attorney Tom Hogan.

Anyone with information can call Chester County Detective Edward Nolan at 610-344-6866.
