Delco Dem sentenced for election-law violation

A former Delaware County candidate for state representative who was charged with violations of state election laws has been admitted to a first-time offenders program, according to Delaware County District Attorny's office.

A former Delaware County candidate for state representative who was charged with violations of state election laws has been admitted to a first-time offenders program, according to Delaware County District Attorny's office.

Vincent Rongione, who was a candidate in the 163rd Legislative District, which includes Upper Darby Township, was sentenced to six months probation and required to perform 16 hours of community service, according to the District Attorney's office.

Rongione, a Democrat, did not meet the residency requirements when he ran for office to fill the seat of Nick Micozzie, who retired. He was defeated by Republican Jamie Santora.
