A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced a New York man who used beatings, stompings and other violence to run a prostitution business in Philadelphia and other major cities to 30 years in prison.

U.S. District Court Judge J. Curtis Joyner also ordered Justin Williams, aka "New York Ice," aka "Pimp Juice," to serve 10 years' supervised release for sex trafficking.

According to a sentencing memo, from early 2011 to mid-2012, Williams (who is believed to be about 40), "a violent, power-hungry predator, sold the bodies of young women, whom he beat into submission, purely to fuel his own avarice."

Williams exploited at least three females, ranging in age from 18 to 27. He moved them between Philadelphia, New York, Atlantic City and Washington, all the while requiring them to walk the streets and advertise themselves on the Internet website "Backpage.com" so they could meet their quota of $500 to $1,000 per night. - Inquirer staff
