A 52-year-old Montgomery County woman has been charged with burning down her neighbor's house in Lower Pottsgrove before dawn Thursday.

The criminal complaint says Donna M. Krupp apparently blamed her neighbor, a Limerick Township police officer, for her son's incarceration on unrelated charges.

The victim had installed a video surveillance system at his home after previous encounters with Krupp and after his car was vandalized with eggs and sugar in the gas tank.

According to the complaint, video footage from the night of the fire shows a person of Krupp's build placing a small Christmas tree on the victim's porch and setting it on fire with a grill lighter. Afterward, the perpetrator runs into Krupp's home.

The owners were out of town at the time of the fire, and no one was injured. The fire burned for several hours, destroying the Commons Drive home and everything in it.

Krupp is charged with arson, reckless endangerment, and other counts. She has no previous criminal record in Pennsylvania. Her son, Joshua Beauseigneur, 22, was on probation for theft and went to jail in June after fleeing from state police.

Krupp was unable to post bail Friday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
