13 injured in trolley accident, SEPTA says

Thirteen people were reported hurt late Monday afternoon after a SEPTA trolley accident near the city's Kingsessing section, an agency spokesman said.

Thirteen people were reported hurt late Monday afternoon after a SEPTA trolley accident near the city's Kingsessing section, an agency spokesman said.

The Route 11 trolley was heading west on Woodland Avenue when it was involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle about 5:45 p.m., said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch.

Eleven passengers were transported to area hospitals with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Busch said. Two people in the passenger vehicle also were taken to a hospital. The cause of the accident was under investigation. - Robert Moran
