A 22-year-old Atglen man has been arrested for delivering heroin to a man who then overdosed and died.

Robert Norman Patterson of the 200 block of Norwood Street has been charged with drug delivery resulting in death, drug dealing, and related charges, the Chester County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday. His arrest is the second this month for drug delivery resulting in death.

"This defendant discovered that dealing heroin in Chester County results in a ticket to prison," Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan said in a statement. "And this case is a grim reminder that using heroin anywhere can result in a one-way ticket to your death."

According to police, Patterson met with the 23-year-old victim on Jan. 15. At the intersection of Leike Road and Blackhorse Road in West Sadsbury Township, the victim got in Patterson's car, bought heroin, and left.

The victim was found dead the next day.

Police said Patterson, arrested on Oct. 18, found out the victim had died from an overdose and continued selling the drug.

Federal authorities arrested Patterson in California. He will be extradited to Pennsylvania.
