A suspect arrested after an armed robbery and police chase earlier this month has been charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault - and is also facing murder charges in a shooting that took place two days earlier.

Philadelphia police said the kidnapping victim went to Eastwick, in West Philadelphia, on the night of Oct. 19 with plans to buy a Dodge Charger from Dion Jordan. When the victim got into the car with Jordan for a test-drive, police said, Jordan - who was behind the wheel - began speeding as another man popped up in the backseat and held a gun to the victim's head.

Police said Jordan tied the victim's hands and legs with plastic ties and took $2,000 from the victim's pocket. He told the victim to call his friends and arrange for them to put $5,000 on top of a Redbox at 63rd and Vine Streets, police said.

There, police said, Jordan made the victim get out of the car and hand him the money. As he was telling the man to leave, police said, a police officer tried to stop him, and Jordan sped off with the officer chasing behind.

The chase continued out of the city, police said, with Jordan hitting a squad car in Delaware County at one point. A passenger fled on foot after that crash, police said, but Jordan continued to drive until he hit a fence in Lansdowne and was taken into custody.

He has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, kidnapping and unlawful restraint, police said.

After he was taken into custody, police said, he was also charged in the Oct. 17 shooting death of Dallas Long, 49, of Cedarbrook. Long was found shot once in the head in Eastwick, police said, and said the killing was motivated by a robbery.

Jordan, whose name is spelled Deion in court documents, was charged with murder, robbery and related offenses in that incident.

Police said they also investigated Jordan's alleged involvement in three bank robberies that took place in Philadelphia and Chalfont in June and September. Federal authorities will be issuing any potential charges in that case, police said.
