A Canadian drug trafficker on Monday was sentenced 21 years in prison for smuggling large quantities of the drug ecstasy and marijuana into Philadelphia.

Thinh Hung Le, 53, of Toronto, was sentenced by a U.S. District Court Judge Juan R. Sanchez. Investigators from the Department of Homeland Security seized three shipments of drugs Le sent to a customer in Philadelphia in 2006. One shipment contained about 26,000 ecstasy pills and another held 105 pounds of marijuana, officials said. Undercover Toronto police officers had met with Le, who told them he could supply them with 100,000 Ecstasy pills in three days. - Vernon Clark
