Upper Darby Township police are looking for a man in his 20s who they say was caught on video slashing the throat of a fellow bar patron during an altercation early Thursday.

The victim, Wilson Zunija Aquirre, also in his 20s, was in "extremely critical condition" at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, said Michael Chitwood, superintendent of police.

The alleged assailant was identified as Miguel Escalon, also in his 20s, whom Chitwood described as "armed and dangerous."

Chitwood said that both men were Hondurans who where in the country illegally.

Chitwood said police had gone to 700 block of Guilford Road, where Escalon was living, but that he had fled.

The incident occurred at 12:15 a.m. at the La Cantina bar in the 6800 block of Market Street, Chitwood said.

He said that Police Officer Michael Crispin had saved the victim's life by applying towels to the wound until medics arrived.
