Fund-raiser for special needs people is Oct. 23

RICHBORO The Miracle League of Northampton Township has scheduled its biggest fund-raiser of the year, the third annual Invincible Dinner, for Oct. 23 from 6 to 9:15 p.m. at the Northampton Valley Country Club.

Event organizers say the Invincible Dinner has raised more than $260,000 over the last two years to benefit sports fields for people with special needs at the Northampton Township Municipal Park in Churchville.

This year, the Miracle League will honor Sen. M. Joseph Rocks, a former state senator from Philadelphia, with its third Invincible Award.

As chairman and chief executive officer of NHS Human Services, Rocks is responsible for an organization that provides a broad spectrum of services in the fields of mental health, addictive diseases, education, juvenile justice, foster care and permanency, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and many more specialized programs.
