Parking issues to be discussed in West Chester
WEST CHESTER People driving in West Chester will soon be able to feed parking meters using their cellphones. The borough's parking director plans to answer questions about several new parking initiatives at three information sessions starting Thursday evening.
Pamela Grossman said she wanted to hold the question-and-answer sessions to reach the many people who do not go to parking committee meetings. She said she would talk about the pay-by-cell parking meters she plans to have operational by the end of next month and the new online parking permit system. She'll also answer general parking questions.
Grossman also will talk about the vehicle booting program that will start in September. Parking officials will be able to place a boot on the vehicle of anyone with outstanding arrest warrants or five unpaid parking tickets.
The "Ask the Parking Director" sessions will be at the municipal building from 6 to 7 p.m. The sessions on Thursday and Tuesday will be in Room 240. The Sept. 4 session is in Room 234.
"If all goes well and people show up," Grossman said, "I'll be glad to do more." - Michaelle Bond
