Motorcycle crash kills off-duty Philly cop
AN OFF-DUTY veteran Philadelphia police officer was killed yesterday in a motorcycle accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Officer Seth Stellfox, identified by police sources, was riding his motorcycle on the turnpike in Cumberland County, outside Harrisburg, in the late afternoon when the accident happened. Commanders and supervisors in the department were notified about 6:30 p.m. that he had died, police sources said.
Stellfox, 33, was an 11-year veteran who worked in the 39th District, at 22nd Street and Hunting Park Avenue, on the border of Nicetown and Tioga.
Details of the accident were scant last night, but a police source said that it was believed to be weather-related and that State Police were investigating.
