Two people sitting in a parked car in West Oak Lane were wounded early Monday when the car was peppered with gunfire, police said.
According to police, the victims - a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman - were in the 2000 Mercury on the car on the 1900 block of Georgian Road when the bullets started flying about 2:55 a.m.
About 10 bullets struck the driver's door and the man was hit multiple times in the lower legs and buttocks, police said. The woman, hit once in the leg while in the passenger seat, got out and ran home.
The wounded man then drove off before crashing into two parked cars on Cheltenham Avenue, police said. He was reported in stable condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
The woman was treated at the medical center and released, police said.
Investigators have not reported if they have established a possible motive in the shooting or identified a possible suspect.
