Police: Officer wounds shooting suspect in Strawberry Mansion

A male was shot by a police officer Wednesday afternoon during a confrontation in the city's Strawberry Mansion section, police said.

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Page Street, police said. The male was shot in his lower left side and was taken by police to Temple University Hospital.

The male was suspected of shooting a 19-year-old man in the face about 3:55 p.m. in the 3000 block of Page, police said.

When police confronted him, the male allegedly produced a weapon and was shot by the officer, who was not identified. - Robert Moran
