Construction crews began work Monday on the first of 27 highway bridges in Camden and Burlington Counties that are to be repaired over the next year.

Most of the bridges, six in Camden County and 15 in Burlington County, carry local roads over I-295. Six of the bridges in Burlington County carry I-295 over other roads.

The bridges include ones on Route 73, Route 38, Berlin-Haddonfield Road, Fellowship Road, and Mount Laurel Road, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said Monday.

The maintenance work will include deck patching, curb repair, expansion joint reconstruction, sidewalk repair, deck crack repairs, cleaning of drainage systems, power washing, and application of a corrosion inhibitor.

A list of all the bridges is available at www.state.nj.us/transportation/about/press/2014/documents/7-28-14I-295BridgeMaintenanceSiteList.pdf
