Credit rating is praised as stable
MEDIA Delaware County officials are pointing to a Standard and Poor's credit rating of AA as a sign that the county's finances and the local economy are in healthy condition.
The S&P rating, issued this month, gave the county a "stable" outlook.
"The rating should give our residents confidence in Delaware County's economic forecast," Delaware County Council Chairman Tom McGarrigle said in an announcement of the rating. "Our income and wealth levels are above average for the state and nation. Delaware County is on solid economic footing."
The S&P report said the county's "local government is strong," and also described the county's budgetary performance as strong.
