Two men critically wounded in separate N. Phila. shootings

A couple of unrelated North Philadelphia shootings early Thursday morning left two men in critical condition.

At 12:01 a.m., police responded to the 3400 block of North Seventh Street, where a 46-year-old man had been shot once in the abdomen. Officers drove the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Less than ten minutes later, an 18-year-old man was shot in the chest on West Stiles Street near 28th Street. Police drove him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

Police declined to identify the victims, made no arrests and were not able to describe the suspects or establish motives in the two shootings. - Lydia O'Neal
