Noxious fumes reported at city school; 1 hospitalized

One person was hospitalized during a hazardous-materials incident at a school Tuesday night in Northeast Philadelphia, fire officials said.

Noxious fumes were reported shortly after 7 p.m. at the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush in the 11000 block of Knights Road, officials said. The fumes were emanating from the basement and the building was being ventilated.

One person suffered a minor injury and was transported to Aria Health-Torresdale Campus, officials said. - Robert Moran
