60-year term for child-porn conviction

A federal judge sentenced a Philadelphia man Friday to 60 years in prison on child-pornography charges.

Steven Mazer, 27, pleaded guilty in June to two counts of production of child pornography.

While babysitting a friend's 2-year-old and 3-year-old in December 2013, authorities said, Mazer coerced the children to engage in sexually explicit conduct, then recorded it.

U.S. District Judge Jan E. DuBois also ordered Mazer to pay a $2,500 fine and a $200 special assessment, and to serve five years of supervised release. - Mike Newall
