Libraries hosting science programs

The Delaware County Library System is presenting "Fizz, Boom, Read," a summer program encouraging residents from preschoolers to adults to read about science.

The 26-member library system will hold special activities with science-related themes through August. They include making balloon rockets, smoke-filled bubbles, and Oobleck, a substance that acts like both a liquid and a solid.

Students who keep logs of what they read can win randomly drawn prizes such as iTunes gift cards, a Kindle Fire, an iPod Shuffle, and tickets to a Philadelphia Union game.
