Penn State football coach to visit Neshaminy

LANGHORNE James Franklin, Penn State's new head football coach, will be stopping in Bucks County this month to support his alma mater, Neshaminy High School. The Neshaminy High School Hall of Fame Club will host a dinner on July 25 from 7 to 11 p.m. at King's Caterers in Bristol. The guests of honor will be Franklin and Mike Frederick, Neshaminy's new football coach. The two were teammates at Neshaminy.

"It's not very often you have a man who played for you and becomes head coach of a prestigious university like Penn State," said Sheila Murphy, Neshaminy Hall of Fame committee member.

Murphy said Franklin will likely give advice to parents and coaches about college football.

The dinner, which will be followed by comments and a meet-and-greet opportunity with both coaches, is $55 per person and open to all, except high school players per NCAA rules.

For more information, call Doug Mason, 215-852-0875, or Sheila Murphy, 215-676-1622, of the Hall of Fame committee.
